Split is the second largest city in Croatia and the capitalof the Dalmatia County. Iti s beautifully located on the shore of the Adriatic Sea. The history of this ancient city dates all the way back to the 6th century B.C., which can clearly be seen in many places, including tbe Old Town area. Thge major attraction in the program of our tour will obviously be walking around the renowned Diocletian palace, which was once the summer residence of Emperor Diocletian of Rome. This sumptuous palace was constructed between 295 A.D. and 305 A.D. And because it is currently conisdered one of the most excellent examples of late ancient architecture in the world, it shouldn’t be surprising that it was included on the UNESCO World Heritage List. You will be able to discover the walls of the Diocletian Palace, several gates (Golden, Iron and Brass gates), Perystile, the

st. Domnius cathedral, the Temple of Jupiter, Substructure (cellars), Cardo and Decumanus streets, as well as the area outside the palace. There, you will be able to explore the Main Square, the remainings of the Benedictine monastery of st. Eufemia, the statue of Gregory of Nin and many other attractions. Apart from that, you will have some free time in Split for sightseeing on your own, lunch, shoppinf or anything else you would like to do.
